We have an invader!

Girls,
Guess what Caleb showed me yesterday when he was checking for eggs?

An opossum in the nest box sound asleep!  A little one that had just eaten an egg was hiding under the hay and content...but not for long...we ran and got papa and he and Caleb tried to get this cute, but unwelcome stowaway!  Caleb hit it three times with the shovel but he got away!!!

So, the funny papa set three rat traps last nite and this morning, when I went out to check them, all three were tripped, but no opossum on any of them!  He got away again.

The 'girls' are all cooped up in their house until they lay all the eggs and the traps are set in their yard, so if that bugger comes around for an egg breakfast, he'll get more than that!  We've gotten two eggs so far today and Caleb told them that as soon as they lay all their eggs, they can come out.  Then we'll set them free in the yard and hopefully catch that stealing opossum and be rid of it!

Thought I"d catch you up on what's been going on around here.  I heard you got a turtle sand box...how fun...Isaac and Caleb had one they loved.

I love you.
Forever your gramma!

A flower for you!
